Knowledge comes from Gas release: July 3
Spanish Gallery Iguapop proudly presents this latest exhibition from Gary Baseman featuring over 50 new works.
In this exhibition, Baseman seeks to challenge himself in a different way, trying to understand the aesthetic nature of what he paints, dealing with a sense of abstraction. He maintains the iconic nature of his work, removing the environment, the background, the narrative and concentrating on the portraiture. The icons interact then with the abstract elements of his “manifestations of desire” within the painting. The bubbles become part of the figures themselves,– becoming the hair, a hat, flowers – and Baseman lets the viewer interpret it.
More of Less: July 3 - August 3

Concrete Hermit present this exhibition featuring new work from two young london based artists Kate McMorrine and Alec Strang.
Kate McMorrine is an artist from the Isle of Skye, a tiny island just off the coast of Scotland where she "learned to play magical instruments and see colors no other can ever see". She now lives in London, speaks in a dull monotone Scottish accent and eats a lot of meat. She hates hippies, does not trust people with thin teeth, and likes fighting on Saturday nights.
Alec Strang is a design & illustrator based in London studying Illustration at the London College of Communication. Alec's drawings focus on the darker aspects of modern youth culture using mostly black and white figurative pen and ink drawings.
RE-HAB Pop-Up Shop! July 2-6
